Santa Monica-based Snap announced Monday that it’s bringing the social media app’s messaging and video features to web browsers, starting with members of the company’s paid subscription plan, Snapchat Plus. It is important to note that the feature is currently exclusive to Snapchat+ subscribers but will eventually expand to everyone.Snapchat is finally available on your laptop, but you’ll initially have to pay for it. The official announcement assures that all of your chats will get synced across devices. It will also show buttons for audio and video calls for starting the desired calling type. Clicking on a particular contact will open the complete chat window in the center. The left sidebar shows all your Snapchat contacts with the most recent chat at the top. You will be welcomed by Snapchat for web user interface as shown in the image below.You may have to authenticate your identity via two-factor authentication. Log in using credentials for the account that you want to use. Open Snapchat for web by visiting on Google Chrome.Chat and video call using Snapchat for web: The team will add more features including AR Lenses in the near future. All chats will get deleted after 24 hours, similar to how it works on the smartphone application. Snapchat for Web further offers features like Chat Reactions and Chat Reply. It is a web version of the app and allows users to engage in chats and attend video calls even from their desktop or laptop. One such feature added to the plan is Snapchat for Web. It will offer experimental, exclusive, and pre-release features to paid subscribers. Snapchat recently launched a subscription plan called Snapchat+ aka Snapchat Plus.
